Cedynia

A town in Gryfino County, West Pomeranian Voivodeship, with 1,639 inhabitants (2006). Cedynia is the site of the first historically recorded battle of the first duke of the Polans, Mieszko I. The battle took place on June 24, 972. Mieszko I and his brother Czcibor defeated Hodo I, the German margrave of the Northern March and Lusatia.
