Eureka's largest Queen Anne mansion. Closed to the public because it's a playground for the Ingomar Club, a group of local businessmen.
The Carson Mansion was built by William Carson about 1888. Carson was a redwood timber pioneer and successful lumber magnate. He commissioned architects Samuel and Joseph C. Newsom to build a wooden mansion next to his lumber yards in Eureka.

  • I ate there once. It was the worst lobster and steak dinner ever. The appetizers were delicious though. Toured the mansion and it is truly incredible. That's all I have to say.
  • There were always employment ads for bussers and waitstaff hanging up at the Career Center at HSU for this place. Despite the rancid air of bourgeoisie wafting off the room of this place, they only paid minimum wage.
