  • It is neither clever nor original to put-down one’s hometown. There is a larger force at work here, systemic, and saturating; that is affecting people’s lives in a negative way: A larger force than the city of Eureka. Our lifestyles are in need of re-evaluation, specifically, our attitudes toward community, and our perpetual sense of isolation and anxiety regarding inter-personal interaction. Stop trying to attribute blame on things places and ideas that don’t deserve it. That thought process only serves to further pollute your minds. Are you afraid to discuss the real problem? There is a pandemic of loneliness afflicting our country. How can you hate your hometown so much? If you cannot get on with people from your hometown (who logically should have the highest probability of sharing much in common with you), perhaps it's because none of us remember how to make meaningful connections with each-other.
  • I remember our teacher made us get through Paradise Lost. It was a chore, but it did have some great lines. One of them is "a mind is its own place, to make a heaven out of hell or a hell out of a heaven". I found the exact quote --- 12 A mind not to be chang’d by place or time. The mind is its own place, and in itself Can make a heaven of hell, a hell of heaven. 2 Paradise Lost. Book i. Line 253. http://www.bartleby.com/100/173.html
  • Does anyone remember what the exact location of the Stumphouse was? Or the railcar shop downtown?
  • Negativity? In Eureka?
  • The Train Car site is west of the Gazebo and north of the new Co-Op. I put it in, but it needs a better description. P.S. I'll take the blame for the rebuttal.
  • Hey Zeus, was that meant to be prophetic?
