Formerly home to the Provident Life Insurance Company, the City of Philadelphia had planned on transforming this impressive structure into the "Public Safety Services Campus." Public Health Laboratory, Medical Examiner, Morgue, and some Police Administration functions were to be moved here. However, on May 24th, 2017, it was announced that the city had reversed its decision to move into the building; instead, choosing the former Philadelphia Inquirer/Daily News building at 400 North Broad Street.
