Currently out-of-service/under-construction 28.45-mile (45.79 km) high-speed, double-track railway line in the USA which was constructed by the Delaware, Lackawanna & Western Railroad between 1908 and 1911. The line was abandoned in 1983 and the tracks were removed the following year.
New Jersey Transit, who acquired most of the line in 2001, is now in the process of rebuilding the line to Andover, NJ (and eventually to Scranton, PA). The first phase of construction is expected to be completed by the mid-2010s.
