The radar station located here was operational on 18 April 1952 and originally manned by the 852nd AC&W Squadron, using AN/FPS-3 and AN/FPS-6 radar systems. The 852nd was later deactivated in 1960 and the facilities taken over by the FAA. An ATCBI-6, ARSR-4, and ASR-8 are now located here.
