Andersen Air Force Base (Andersen AFB, AAFB) (IATA: UAM, ICAO: PGUA, FAA LID: UAM) is a United States Air Force base located approximately 4 miles (6.4 km) northeast of Yigo near Agafo Gumas in the United States territory of Guam. Along with Naval Base Guam.

Established on December 3rd, 1944 as North Field, Andersen Air Force Base began its life as a heavy bomber base and home to over 200 B-29D Superfortresses of the 314th Bombardment Wing, XXI Bomber Command, Twentieth Air Force.

Conducting long-range bombardment missions over mainland Japan for the duration of the Second World War, the base remained heavily active postwar supporting the drawdown of US forces in the Pacific before once again seeing use as a heavy bomber staging area during the Korean War. Folded into the Strategic Air Command (SAC) during the Korean War, Andersen became a major rotational forward-deployed location for stateside bomber, refueling, transport and fighter-interceptor wings during the subsequent Cold War years. Reaching its maximum size and operational output during the Vietnam War, Andersen provided roughly half of the airpower during Operations Arc Light, Linebacker and Linebacker II, housing several B-52 and KC-135 Wings as they conducted high-frequency bombing missions on North Vietnam.

Returning to normal operations following the Vietnam War, Andersen AFB resumed its role hosting various forward-deployed SAC Wings until its turnover to the Pacific Air Forces in 1989. Still active with the PACAF today, Andersen Air Force Base is the home for the USAF's 36th Wing and its subordinate units, the 734th Air Mobility Squadron and the US Navy's Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron Twenty-Five (HSC-25).
