Actually this village known as Venkitangu Panchayath.There is too much stories about this village.Atually this vilage ruled by very famous rulers ie Atas (Atanmar) There is very famous rice fields "kol padve" in the name of these rulers 'kannatha ,ponnatha,elatha" are examples and you can see very famous "manas"still here.Shortly this village ruled by land laords "manas".Some old people say there was very big canal "kidangu"in this area before to pass the water from Mullassery Canal to Enamavu Kadvu.This canall called 'Van kidangu" and last the name become Venkitangu. But some tells ther was big forest around this area,old people did not go to the east area like.(by zakir Hussain)
