Marzahn-Hellersdorf is one of 12 boroughs of Berlin, formed in 2001 by merging the former boroughs of Marzahn and Hellersdorf. It's situated in the northeast of Berlin. It borders to Lichtenberg in the west, Treptow-Köpenick in the south and the state of Brandenburg in the east and north. The district has about 527.000 inhabitants.
