This place is called as Murukambattu. This place is famous for holy festivals like Gangamma jatara and virupakshi amman thiruvila. This place has many temples like vinayagar(pilliyar) temple, kolatthamman temple, virupakshi amman temple, dropathi amman temple and many. The ancestors of this village came from the northern part of the tamilnadu in early beginning of 1900's. Hence the mother tongue of the people is tamil. This village has many government employees and the no. of people who join in defence is also high from this village. The present president of this village is Karthikeyan and the MPTC president is chinni. The ex-president of this village is TN.Sampath. He owns a school named Prakasam vidya laya where most of the people get educated. This village has a primary elementary and secondary higher schools also. This village is very hot for politics.
Myself Bhaskar working in chennai. I do belong to this village. I am giving this updates based on my understanding abt this village. Around some dozens of software engineers are working in bangalore and chennai. And these people used to visit the village very often.

  • hi, the information about this place is very good. my kulatheivam is padavatamman. how the temple would be and please let me know about its history. i have never had a chance to visit this place.
  • Nice work Bhaskar..want to supplement one thing..Criket was a like religion 10 year before here.@subhalakshmi, i dont think there is temple for 'padavatamman' in Murukambattu.
