  • Kemerovo is in South Siberia, not here. This is Kolyuchin. There was once a polar station here on the northwestside. There is also a (automatic nuclear powered?) lighthouse located there. The Chukchy village mentioned in wikipedia (as of 12 December 2009) does not exist anymore and probably doesn't exist since long (it's not on soviet maps of the 1980s). Maybye it was one of the 'hopeless villages' that were forcely closed in the 1950s and 60s in order to concentrate the people in a smaller number of settlements. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kolyuchin_Island
