Old Town

Formerly known as Old Chillicothe, this was the site of a prominent Shawnee village from 1774 - 1780. Regular armed conflict between the Shawnee villagers and the settlers from Kentucky continued until 1780, when the village was abandoned.

Today it's a small community along Route 68.

  • The alternate spelling "Oldtown" appears on some maps and references. The sign at the edge of town reads "Old Town."
