  • This was the house where much violence againset brains was inflicted. People died here at the hand of imposters masquerading as medical providers. The less fortunate lived in a state of injury. Some survive to this day in a state of diminished mental capacity brought on by the treatments forced upon them without their consent while being held against their will inside this building. It is a monument to abomination worthy of no honor, reverence, or sentimentality.
  • I remember this place well. It was a haven during a difficult time. Sorry to hear it's closed although it's not hard to imagine it falling apart in the years since I was there. There were some nice people there, doctors, staff and patients, and they helped me quite a bit. Thanks...
  • This hospital moved to Cold Springs Rd. Every institution has abuses, that is why there shouldn't be institutions, but smaller facilities designed to help those that need it. Institutions get bigger than the reason they are there in the first place.
  • Regardless of were it is now, there is not enough supervision/accountablity of the staff. There was very clear mental abuse toward many of the individuals staying here. It always came in four differant forms: You would be shownen blatent disrespect through favoritism, You would be accused of things you had not done regardless of the lack of evidents, they would deny some individuals meals, and they would make some soap and rinse off several times to punish those who would wet themselves......or you would get all of these things done to you. Needles to say, very reprouchable people working there. This operation at that time, was only one step up from a nazi consentration camp at best.....I long for the day that this facility is knocked down, as I see it as a monument of misdeeds......trust me when I say, it's long over due. I was placed there because my parents didn't want me around, so you are getting this from someone who is very well grounded in reality.
  • This building will be torn down in 2010 to make way for the new Wishard hospital.
  • This place was absolutely horrible & I'm relieved it's been torn down. People in Indiana who supported a place like this should be ashamed as should the staff and doctors who enabled its abuses. I was there, too, many years ago and remember it vividly. A horrid place for people with mental illnesses.
