  • There are several Coulmbus's in the US. Columbia is S.C.'s Capital Colombus, Ohio is that state's capital.
  • For years Columbus tried to brand the city with the somewhat silly title "Athens of the Prairie" for its many outstanding public buildings. Locals, not fond of lofty titles, derisively modified it for common use as "A-----e of the Prairie." That being the case, you don't hear it used much anymore.
