Neo-Classical pavilion built for Fredrich Wilhelm III and second wife Princess Auguste von Liegnitz. During a vist to Naples, the king stayed in the Villa Reale del Chiamonte and so impressed he commissioned Karl Schinkel to build something similar. Completed on the kings birthday August 3rd 1825.
