vimalastro, Every one knows the level of the water in the lake changes. It rises as it rains, and it goes down as the water evaporates in the summer. I suggest the MCGM should look after the lake. It should keep it clean. MCGM also can start boating facility again and earn some money to look after the lake. Offcourse they should appoint some life guards also there to prevent any accident.

The Bandra Talao is a landmark of sorts and one of the largest open spaces we have in Bandra. The Bandra Talao which is maintained by the BMC has been in a dilapidated condition and needs urgent improvement and beautification. Now the BMC has decided, once again, to beautify the Bandra Talao and the BMC Municipal Architect has drawn up a plan for the beautification and improvement of the same. The proposed special features include - Jogging track and walking pathway around the Talao, boating facilities, musical water fountains and light shows along with a small fish acquarium. But what about the history of this lake, When was it constructed? by whom? and what was the reason/need for construction of this lake. How and why this lake is included in Haritage II monument. Before the present beautification of this lake, the excess to this lake was from the Turner Road Side near Nootan Nagar, there were steps to go into this lake, there was a plaque witten in Urdu. Where this now this plaque. Can any one put some light on above?
