Navpada

India / Maharashtra / Mumbai /

This an old village (Gaothan), which has an old mosque, first build in Bandra and dedicated Grave Yard, for the villagers. The village of Naupada behind the railway station, whose people were all Sunni Musalmans, was formerly very prosperous working as many: as 150 hand looms. The village is now almost deserted, but most of the people have found work at the Kurla Swedeshi mill, the first mill of Mumbai, built by TATAs.
