The base is what is left (nothing much to see except for a couple of trees) of the altar of Zeus which was unearthed by German archeologists and on the base of a bilateral agreement between Greec and Germany was transported in 1871 to Germany and now being admired at the Pergamum Museum in Berlin (closed between 2015 and 2017 due to renovation of the whlos museum)
