Add category
The first commercial wind farm in the United Kingdom, located about 50 km northwest of Plymouth, Cornwall, England. The wind farm first became operational in mid December 1991. Construction took just 3 months total, but erection and commissioning of the turbines took only 15 days! The 10 original (400 kW Vestas WD34) turbines had an annual output of about 12 million Kw hours, which equals 1 year's consumption by 2700 average homes
The wind farm was repowered in 2010, the original 10 turbines being removed and replaced by 4 Enercon E70/2300 turbines with a combined nominal capacity of 9.2 MW.
