Illinois Creek Mine was a USMX/Alaska gold and silver mine. Originally planned for 6 year seasonal operation, it began gold production in 1997, was bankrupt and closed 1998, certified reclaimed by State of Alaska in 2005. Notorious as the first hard rock mine to go bankrupt with a reclamation bond that was not adequate to close and cleanup the site.
