The Pileta cave is situated 4 kilometers outside Banaojan on the road to Cortes de la Frontera. Discovered in 1905 by Jose Bullon Lobato, the cave system is famous for its pre-historic cave art, some of which has been dated at 18,000 years old.
The art includes representations of deer, horses, fish, goats, bulls, a seal, a bison, signs and abstract figures that may relate to the moon calendar
