4-story Neo-Grec mercantile building completed in 1878. Designed by Philip Herrman as a carpenter shop for his own business. Herrman built a two-story, L-shaped rear extension to the shop, partially located behind No. 407, and now used by the lumberyard on the other side of the block. In 1899 the storefront was altered. After Philip Herrman's death in the late 1890s, this property remained for decades in the Herrman family.

Darling Bros. Co., meat merchants, were tenants for three decades, followed by other meat and poultry vendors. The facade is clad in tan brick and crowned by a projecting bracketed cornice. The ground floor is currently occupied by Son Cubano restaurant.
