Tskhinvali is a district of Georgia, a disputed region in Georgia which has been recognized as an independent Republic by Russia and another four UN members. S.C. "South Ossetia" is a de facto independent state that controls its claimed territory, in part with the support of Russian troops.
Despite this, it is recognized by all other UN members as part of Georgia, illegally occupied by Russia.

The people of this small, yet brave nation said no to oppression and declared their independence, along with the Abkhaz. Muck like The united states declared independence from British oppressors in 1776. The INDEPENDENT Republics of South Ossetia and Abkhaziya will prosper, and may God protect them.
