Estate home designed c. 1929 by Delano & Aldrich in the Georgian Revival style on originally 15 acres of land for Ogden Phipps {financier, industrialist} on his parent's 180-acre estate. Phipps served as a partner of the Smith, Barney & Co. investment firm, chairman of Bessemer Securities Corporation, and director of International Paper Co., Seaboard Oil Co., Cerro De Pasco Oil Corp., and United States Leather Co. Decoration was possibly later done by Denning & Fourcade.

Sympathetic interior renovations were recently made in 2018 by Oliver Cope Architect with decoration by Steven Gambrel.
