Călan is a town in Romania, in Hunedoara County, on the Strei river valley, at 230 m altitude.
The town is composed of two primary neighborhood OV(orasul vechi) Călan and ON(orasul nou) Călan translated as the old town of Călan and the new town of Călan.
The town of Călan also has under it's administration the villages of Strei-Săcel Strei-Sandgiorgiu, Batiz, Calanul Mic, Santamaria de piatra, Sancrai, Grid,Nadastia de jos, Nadastia de sus, Criseni and Valea Sângeorgiului.
