This place is famous for Battle of Saragarhi. Battle of Saragarhi was fought on 12 september, 1897 around this post. 21 Soldiers of 36th Sikh Regiment fought with local tribals. All 21 perished while defending the post. All were given battle honours of the highest Order, and the British Parliament paid a standing ovation to this display of rare bravery.
