Islamabad is the capital of Pakistan, and is the tenth largest city in Pakistan with an estimated population of over 673,766 in 2009. The Rawalpindi/Islamabad Metropolitan Area is the third largest in Pakistan, with a population of over 4.5 million inhabitants.

Islamabad is located in the Pothohar Plateau in the north of the country, within the Islamabad Capital Territory. The region has historically been a part of the crossroads of Punjab and North-West Frontier Province, Margalla pass being a gateway to the North-West Frontier Province. The city was built during the 1960s to replace Karachi as Pakistan's capital. However, the capital was not moved directly from Karachi to Islamabad. It was first shifted to Rawalpindi and then to Islamabad after all the developmental works were finished.

    Friends, all Indian and Pakistan, if we just be blaming each other, there wouldnt be any benfit. If someone says that Mumbai Attacks were planned by Pakistan, then there should also be an investigation of 15000 personals placed in Afghanistan, so manu counselates and much more. We always condemn attacks on each other and appreciate CBMs form both sides, but we never had got courage to settle issues, if we cant do it between us, we can have a third party involved. If India has objection on America (I being realistic say that America might do wrong but it is a Super Power today), then why she has signed a nuclear agreement with America. We can also have Germany, France or Britain involved in this, because China and Russia would truly be biased on either side. As for now, I pray that we get time to settle our internal issues first and then blame others. But please be humble in discussions.
