Douglas Dam

Douglas Dam, which opened in 1943, impounds the French Broad River to create Douglas Lake. The dam is owned and operated by the Tennessee Valley Authority. The generating capacity of Douglas’s four units combined is 165,600 kilowatts of electricity.
