J.E. Roush Fish and Wildlife Area was constructed in 1967 and has 7,347 acres of land, and 900 acres of lake, administered by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The lake is formed by Roush Dam, a concrete rolled earth-fill dam 91 feet high and 6,500 feet long. Roush Lake can be seven miles-long in summer and as much as 29 miles during flooding.
