Harvester Park occupies approximately 90 acres of what was once an experimental farm operated by Harvester International.

International Harvester Company purchased the 414 acres (1.7 km²) block of land in 1917. The original tract occupied most of the area between Madison, County Line, Plainfield, and Route 66 (now Frontage Road). Harvester tested the world's first all-purpose tractor, the Farmall, at this site, which operated up until the mid 1980's when the company merged with J.I. Case.

The experimental farm was later redeveloped into the current mix of housing, office park, retail, and parkland.
