Originally slated to be the site of a 200-acre dragon-shaped lake with a swim beach and campground, today, the 1,867-acre Springbrook Prairie Forest Preserve in Naperville is instead one of three regionally significant grassland bird communities in the state.

  • Formerly know as Dragon Lake forest preserve, now known as Springbrook. A 9 mile trail runs the perimeter of this forest preserve (continues on the E side of Naperville-Plainfield Road). Model airplane field includes a blacktop runway. Dog park is located on the far Western border.
