  • The 2.3 km long 2-lane Pamban road bridge, named Indira Gandhi Setu, is the first sea bridge of India. It was opened in 1988. The railway bridge that adjoins it was opened in 1914 and is still in use. The 5.6 km long 8-lane Bandra-Worli sea bridge, named Rajiv Gandhi Setu, is the second sea bridge of the country.
