With approximately 50,000 annual operations and 44 based aircraft, the airport is an important base of activity for business and personal flights to and from the southern Illinois-Indiana area it services. Since taking over the airport from the United States Army Air Corps, the Bi-State Authority has strived to meet the needs of both the airport users and the surrounding communities. Over the past 10 years the Bi-State Authority has authorized more than $3.3 million of improvements at the Lawrenceville-Vincennes Airport.

The Airport is also home to Vincennes University's Aviation Program in Southern Indiana and Illinois.
