Knox County was formed in 1790. It was named for U.S. Secretary of War Henry Knox. Indiana's oldest county. Just Changed back to the Eastern Time Zone, much to the displeasure of much of Vincennes and the southern and western halves of Knox County.

  • From Rhatsa26WM: Editor's Note: The Polygon for Knox County, IN does not exactly trace the extremely windy boundaries of Knox County, IN. Like with Gibson and Spencer Counties, Knox County is largely bounded by rivers and is subject to the limited (around 100) amount of pegs for the polygon outline. However, Knox County was especially tough because unlike Spencer and Gibson Counties, 85% of the County's boundary is river guided. This in mind if it seems that your area is incorectly defined, I really can't do anything about it, unless the amount is increased by 50 pegs.
  • Number 14 in my list of counties to be traced out. Anybody living in these counties that wishes to put in information about them is more than welcome to. I only know more about Southwestern Indiana than the rest of the state, so I am only limited to what information I do know about them.
