The city of Paducah is the county seat of McCracken County.
It is the 15th largest city in the state, and the largest city in the Jackson Purchase Region. At the 2010 census the population was 24,703. It is the main city of the Paducah Micropolitan Area. Downtown Paducah has many historic buildings on th National Register of Historic Places.
