  • The marked location is wrong. The actual location was east of the lane way where the current liquor store is located. The property was shared with a fast food chicken place (Dallas Fried Chicken) that had a 'fortuitous fire' of 'unknown origin' that started in the deep fryer. The fire burned both establishments to the ground. I was in the all night restaurant (Fuller's) across Broad Street at the time and had a front row seat.
  • Also Delbert's was located approximately half mile north and west on 1400 block of Hamilton Street. The Regina Theatre was located west on 12th Avenue between Rose and Hamilton Streets. The Regina Theatre burned down well before the end of WWII.
  • If my memory serves me correctly I saw Star Wars at the Roxy Theatre just before it burned down. I also recalled that it was a chicken place connected to the theatre that had a grease fire, burning both establishments down. Very vague memories as I was only seven years old at the time. For some reason I remembered the chicken place as being a take-out joint right in front of the theatre. It might have been a take-out joint, but after finding some photos on the internet, I don't think it was in front of the theatre, but rather just north of the theatre. Thanks for your comment!
