The Astronaut Alley is located near the Pantheon. It has been a tradition the visiting astronauts to plant a coniferous tree.
The first such tree was planted by Yuri Gagarin on May 26, 1961. It marks the beginning of the tradition.
The silver fir, planted by the first astronaut has been long dry and replaced several times. But some of coniferous trees planted by other astronauts can be seen today. Among the names of the Russian astronauts, the names of the Bulgarian astronauts Georgi Ivanov and Aleksandar Aleksandrov can be read.
Several years ago, the broken mable slabs were replaced by other more modest ones. In the alley you will see the names of:
