Ballymaconaghy was once a townland, stretching from as far north as the modern-day Tesco on the Castlereagh Road and as far south as the Cairnshill Road. Nowadays the name is only recognible to most locals in reference to the Ballymaconaghy Road, a distributer route in south east Belfast between the Four Winds and Knockbracken Reformed Presbyterian Church.
