The larger of Glasgow's two main line railway terminals, and the northern terminus of the West Coast Main Line (WCML) which snakes its way 401.25 miles south to London Euston. Central serves all of the Greater Glasgow conurbation's southern towns and suburbs, the Ayrshire and Clyde coasts, as well as being the terminus for all inter-city services to destinations south of the border.

The largest railway station in Scotland in terms of passenger movements (Edinburgh Waverley is physically the biggest) - around 35 million annually, it regularly competes with Birmingham New Street as the busiest station in the British Isles outside London.
