  Kattanam is a small town in Alappuzha District and is located on the Kayamkulam-Adoor road. It is around 15 km west of Kayamkulam. Vettikodu Nagaraja Temple is a major shrine nearby. An ancient church named St Stephens Catholic Church is located here. Mavelikara and Karunagappally are the nearby towns. Trivandrum International Airport and Cochin International Airport are in equal proximity to Kattanam. Nearest railheads are Kayamkulam Junction Railway Station and Mavelikara Railway Station.

  Kattanam is not a town. It is a village in Bharnikavu Panchayat. The land marks are St. Stephen's Orthodox Syrian Curch ( Kattanam Valia Palli) and Catholic Syrian church or ask for Pope Pius Xi high school. It is a lovely village with lot of vegitatiion. If you want enjoy fresh air visit Kattanam. Its proper location is 7 Kms (4 miles) away from ( East) Kayamkulam and it is on Kayamkulam Punaloor road. Nearest famous hospital is St. Thomas Mssion Hospital, Vettikodu, it is popularly known as Kattanam hospital. Kattanam is my birth place and I was baptized in St. Stephen's Orthodox Church, and completed my SSLC from Pope Pius Xi High School

  I am born and brought up in Kattanam; completed my SSLC from Pope Pius Xi High School. I was baptized in St. Stephen's Orthodox Syrian Church (Kattanam Valia Palli). Kattanam is a villagae - not a town. It may become a town may be in the years ahead. Any way it has developed a lot when you compare to the last 30 years.

  Kattanam is just 7 Kms; (usually we say 4 miles from Kayamkulam) away from Kayamkulam; which is located on the K.P.Road.
