Under Ranibar Forest Range_Satuli_Ganjam posted by Dr. Babula Jena
This broad area contains a group of villages (ex: Satuli, Lauput, Patapur etc. ) and mountains (Officially protected under Berhampur Forest Division). Some divine places (viz.Makareswar,Jhadeswar) are gifted in this region. In the ancient times (Un-reported), various sages and saints attained spiritual siddhies in Makareswar temple and obtained darshan of Lord Siva. These places are the important tourist attraction, owing to its alluring waterfalls and natural beauty. In future, these places are the potential sites for Orissa tourism development. Illegal hunting continues unchecked in these areas leading to near extinction of many animal species.
A pic of two elephants fell down into an irrigation well in my village(Go through this link to see photos. www.hindu.com/2008/07/09/stories/2008070957100100.htm).
