The Documentation Center at Bernauer Strasse 111 is part of the Berlin Wall Memorial ensemble. It offers detailed historical and background information on the history and politics behind the building of the Berlin Wall. It has a permanent exhibition in German and English, an observation tower overlooking a section of the original border, a digital archive with original documents, audio stations with historical radio broadcasts from East and West, and regular events. One of the Berlin Wall Memorial's priorities is educational work on history and politics. To this end, it offers a wide variety of tours, seminars, and thematic events. Please ask the Visitors Center about the current program.

The Berlin Wall Memorial's outdoor exhibition is currently being laid out on the grounds of the former border strip.

The memorial's Documentation Center offers detailed historical and background information on the history and politics behind the building of the Wall:

A permanent exhibition in German and English
An observation tower with a view of the original border fortifications
A digital archive with original documents
Audio stations with historical radio broadcasts from East and West


You will find a well-stocked bookstand at the memorial's Visitors Center on the corner of Bernauer Strasse and Gartenstrasse, at the S-Bahn station Nordbahnhof. The new introductory film is also shown there.
