National College "Gheorghe Lazar" in Sibiu (formerly Staatsobergymnasium respectively Főgymnázium Allam), originally a Jesuit college founded in 1692, is the second oldest educational institution in Sibiu, one of the main schools in the city.

In the period 1897-1898 were constructed the existing school buildings after Ignác Alpár architect. After demolition of four existing houses on the site of today's school, in June 1897 the cornerstone was laid. Building complex was opened in the school year 1898-1899. In addition to the main building a Catholic chapel was added (on the side of the Gheorghe Lazar St.), which is currently a high school gym.
