Opened in 1996, and recently refurbished in 2005. Starhill Gallery is an upscale, luxury retail mall catered to the top 1% or so of the country's population. It is one of the (if not "the") grandest shopping malls in Kuala Lumpur. It features more than a hundred renowned luxury timepiece and jewellery brands and dozens of other contemporary luxury labels. With 7 floors of retail space all offering a different niche, Starhill Gallery makes the ultimate statement in fashion, food, beauty and art.

The interior of Starhill Gallery is a sight to see. It offers a rare shopping experience that is private, glamourous and exclusive. All 7 floors are specifically designed to play its role. The classy interior, the grandeur of the design and its overall elegance makes it the perfect destination for those looking to splurge. However, Starhill Gallery is definitely not for those looking for a bargain, because most items sold here are insanely expensive, but visitor can easily spots exotic cars such as Ferrari, Porsche and Lamborghini parked here.

Only for the rich and famous! I went here once penniless just to admire the place, entered the toilet and right after I finished my business I noticed a woman wearing a black coat kneeling on the floor as if she was picking something. I looked carefully and she was cleaning it instead. For goodness sake, I know the building management wants this place to look luxurious but they're ignoring their employees comfort by telling them to wear coats even when their job is just cleaning.
