Wariseni has been established as a centre to showcase carved timber products from local carvers. It displays an array of carvings ranging from traditional to contemporary styles. The centre is managed by the Malaysian Timber Industry Board (www.mtib.gov.my/). The Malaysian Timber Industry Board (MTIB) is a statutory body accredited to the Ministry of Plantation Industries and Commodities (www.kppk.gov.my/). MTIB was established in 1973 by an Act of Parliament. The main objective is to promote and coordinate the overall development of the timber industry and to ensure their continued growth within a rapidly industrialising Malaysian economy.
