Ex - USS Boulder (LST-1190) (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania)

USA / New Jersey / National Park / Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
military, ship, Landing Ship Tank (LST), United States Navy

USS Boulder was the 12th of the 20 ship Newport Class of Tank Landing Ships and commissioned into the US Atlantic Fleet in 1971. She was decomissioned in 1994 along with many of her sisterships as their amphibious capabilites were eclipsed by more capable multi-mission vessels, and was held in Category B Reserve here at Philadelphia until 2008 when she was formally stricken from the Naval Register.

Now held in Category X Reserve, the Boulder is slated for disposal either through use as a target or by scrapping.
