Elevation 3,340 feet.
In the spring of 2005 the nine 6.1-meter dishes of the BIMA (Berkeley-Illinois-Maryland-Association) millimeter-wave array were, to reduce atmospheric interference, relocated to a higher elevation in the Inyo Mountains. There they became part of the CARMA radio observatory at Cedar Flat. (quod vide)

Comments

  • Unfortunately The Allen Telescope Array was mothballed in April 2011.
  • The ATA is once again operational as of today, 12/6/2011. NASA's Kepler telescope has identified many potential planets orbiting their stars within distances that would allow for the presence of liquid water - increasing the probablity of discovering ETI.
