Home of Columbia's graduate architecture school; GSAPP. William M. Kendall was lead partner on the design. The portico was modeled after the Temple of Athena Peleus. The building was named for Henry Ogden Avery who was a wealthy heir to an antiques dealer and was the first professor of architecture at Columbia. The books that were donated by his family became the core of the school's library.
