This is a former USSR apartment block. It's initial intended use was for occupation by the many local industrial workers. Currently, it is a series of private apartments. It is not unique in Dnepr. With the decline of available funding to repair public buildings, this block (typical of many) shows a marked decline in the condition of the infrastructure. However, money is now being spent on extensive renovation. Progress is slow but is happening nonetheless. On the outside, the building appears to be poor but on the inside you will find a fantastic and beautiful Ukrainian welcome! In the future (possibly 10 years) there will great improvements. There is some crime. It is mixture of the usual types of crime. There are drugs and alcohol problems but there are very similar areas (districts) here in the United Kingdom!!! When you make friends here, you make very good friends!!!
