St. Xaviers Parish was bifurgateed from Virudhunagar main parish 0n 22.08.2000. Fr. J. stephen msfs, as the first parish priest, served for six years after which he took up the project of starting a new SFS school in Virudhunagar. The church land was purchased in 2001. Church foundation was laid on 02.02.02. and was blessed & opned on 03.03.03. The presbytery was built in 2004.
